Job Summary:

The Oncology Infusion Nurse is responsible for administering chemotherapy, blood products, anti-neoplastics, and supportive therapies in an outpatient oncology infusion setting. This role includes performing lab draws from subcutaneous portacaths, managing home infusion pumps, and conducting central line dressing changes. The nurse must be a Registered Nurse with intravenous medication administration skills, preferably with outpatient oncology infusion experience and ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification. Strong clinical skills and the ability to work collaboratively within the oncology care team are essential. Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy, blood products, anti-neoplastics, and supportive therapies intravenously.
• Draw labs from subcutaneous portacaths.
• Manage and remove home infusion pumps.
• Perform central line dressing changes and related care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and patient status.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and chemotherapy handling guidelines.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• At least 2 years of nursing experience.
• Intravenous medication administration proficiency.
• ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification or demonstrated outpatient oncology infusion experience.
• Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in outpatient oncology infusion settings.
• Familiarity with central line care and management.
• Additional oncology nursing certifications.

Special Considerations:

• No weekend or on-call requirements unless working in outpatient oncology infusion with appropriate certification.
• Must be able to work safely with chemotherapy agents and blood products.

Scheduling:

• Day shifts available: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM, or 8:30 AM 5:00 PM.
• Shift assignment depends on credentials and competence.
